During your consultation, one of our support team will accompany you into the clinic and be by your side throughout your consultation.

Dr. Dean J. Murphy, DDS
Dr. Murphy was educated as a dentist and orthodontist at Chicago's Loyola University. A native of the Chicago suburbs, he has lived in the Rockford area for over 25 years. Early arch development, cleft palate, TMJ treatment have been areas of particular interest in his 27 years as a practicing orthodontist. Continuing education to learn new techniques and apply those ideas to help patients has been a passion throughout his career.
As the father of six children, Dr. Murphy understands children’s wishes, feelings and concerns. He works with them to turn problems and obstacles into goals and achievements. Close attention and the desire to listen help carry over into his professional work. Solving problems becomes the ‘motto for the day’ as each patient presents unique challenges. The latest technologies and diagnostic techniques are applied to help with a patient’s many needs.
Sherry is happily married with three children. During the school year she loves hosting international students. She has been in orthodontics since 1986 and truly loves being a part of creating beautiful smiles.
Christine is an orthodontic tech and works directly with patients in the clinic. She has been working alongside Dr. Murphy since 2004.
Angela, who began working with Dr. Murphy in 1998, is one of our lab technicians. She creates many of the orthodontic appliances you may be fitted with during the course of your treatment.
Rhonda has been working in the dental field since 1999 when she first started at Orthodontic Specialties. She is a lab technician and creates many of the orthodontic appliances you may be fitted with during the course of your treatment.
Brenda has worked alongside Dr. Murphy since he launched his practice in 1990. You will find her as the office manager at our Belvidere location.
Ranae has been in the dental field since 1997. She has been working as an assistant for Dr. Murphy for many years, and she loves seeing the final result when patients get their braces off.
Mary has worked at Orthodontic Specialties for 12 years and she enjoys getting to know the families and watching the kids grow. Her own orthodontic treatment has benefitted her greatly, as she is a great example of how adult orthodontics can change a person’s life for the better.
Yvonne has been the bookkeeper for Orthodontic Specialties for the past 10 years. She will be happy to help with assisting you with financial questions you may have with your account.
